What excites you most about teaching at the iF DESIGN ACADEMY?

As a design leader who believes in the power of co-creation and community, I’m most excited about collaborating and connecting with a global cohort of iF Design Academy design leaders. With guest instructors who will bring unique expertise to the content and tools shared each week, and learners who will bring valuable personal perspective to our cohort discussions, I am very excited to lead and facilitate a learning community all about growing design leadership capabilities.

Why is your course especially relevant for design leaders right now?

Leading design teams isn’t about following a one-size-fits-all playbook – who you are, who your team is, how they collaborate, what your organization values, and how your organization operates are just some of the dynamic inputs that can and should inform your leadership approach and craft.

Leadership Studio is a course that will equip design leaders with the mindsets and tools to understand their unique voice and identity, adapt best practice to their team's needs, and cultivate a creative culture that is authentic to them and drives impact across your organization.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe in teaching and learning in community. My course is co-created with an incredible panel of guest instructors who have brought their wealth of experience and expertise to each module. Each week, as a learner you’ll be able to learn from not only the instructors but also the community of design leaders enrolled in the course through live Q&A, small group debriefs on the assignments, and asynchronous prompts.

What personal career experiences will you bring to this course, and how will participants benefit from them?

With over a decade of experience in human-centered design, I bring a deep commitment to curiosity, creative excellence, and cultivating community through design leadership.

From leading projects across IDEO’s learning and education portfolio to leading strategy on Apple’s Retail Engagement and Marketing team, I bring hands-on experience leading design teams across global and business contexts. As a design leader, every new team, project, and organization has given me an opportunity to hone my leadership craft and approach, and I look forward to bringing these learnings to life in my Leadership Studio course.

How did you choose the guest experts for this course, and how will participants benefit from their experience?

From expertise in fostering belonging on your teams and inspiring creative culture through rituals, to helping your team get unblocked through the art of coaching and establishing influence across your organization, the guest instructors featured in Leadership Studio are thought leaders and practitioners in the tangible practices that set design leaders up for success. In addition to the stories and case studies from their own work that they will share in each week’s podcast, our guest instructors will also share tried and true practices and tools that you’ll be able to adapt and use in your day-to-day role.
